I noticed lately that everybody enjoys to talk about “the power of the mind to heal your body”, “the power of mind over matter”, “mind creates reality”…

Ok let’s be clear about something, please. The mind, as such, has no power whatsoever. Indeed, because it is such a fine instrument, it has a huge illusion of power and, if you let it on its own (if you let it “create your reality” 😉 ), it can take you so far away from reality and in places so strange, that you’ll need lifetimes and eons to get out of there and come back. But really, let’s be serious – saying that “my mind has the power to heal my body” is like “my keyboard has the power to write poetry”.

If you really want to do something with your mind, maybe one thing to do would be to stop and see where you are and where your mind is. See how your mind is part of everything – and how you are part of everything. Get very clear about who influences what, and in what way.

If you really want to do something with your mind, maybe one thing to do would be to take power over it and bring it to god, so to say. You might need a while to make it shut up and listen to you, but hey. There’s no joking with the illusion of power. No joking with illusion in general, that is.

If you really want to do something with your mind, maybe one thing to do is to sit down and see how it works – and how you work. See how it manages you – and how you manage it.

Take your mind to the gate of Paradox and show it that there’s nothing to understand.

Take it to the threshold of Love and show it that there is nothing to control.

Take time to notice your mind’s garbage and where it throws it; put it all in one place and burn it.

Take time to notice who writes the poem – and who merely transcribes it.

And then come and speak about what the mind can do – and what is worth letting your mind do.
